Since you're wondering...
Music and art have been central to my life from a very young age. My childhood was enriched by theater productions, classical music, films, and visits to art galleries. I’m drawn to duality, surrealism, and the peculiar. Vibrancy and visual texture breathe between the marks I make.
While these elements are often exclusive to fine art, I’m dedicated to discovering them within music’s melodies and tempos. A performer’s movement and the way they bathe in light highlight their attire and aid in the narrative they intend to convey. Seeing this in person often inspires me, it flows through me and choreographs my every move.
Within the last 4 years I’ve worked with both local and national musicians on a variety of projects. Musical themes in my art have become more prominent since I discovered my top three bands: Greta Van Fleet, Young the Giant, and Twenty One Pilots. All very different in their aesthetics and stories, this collective of musicians has mastered the art of the concept album. Following the narratives woven into each work has inspired me to create Live Music Films for each band, using footage I’ve shot at their shows. These short films offer a captivating visual experience that seamlessly combines live show documentation with compelling storytelling.
The most valuable thing I've learned while being an artist is to collaborate. I’ve worked with incredible artists such as Super 400 on a music video and album art, Victoria Jackson (Ethereal Thread Co.) on our “Jake Jacket”, and Erin Clare Flute with her rendition of "Fate of the Faithful" for the live music video. This work has been the most rewarding, as I am able to connect my practices of art and film.
